Her training spans anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and the science behind hair and scalp products — giving her a thorough understanding of the biological and lifestyle factors behind hair loss and scalp conditions.

During consultations, Rebecca takes a detailed history covering medical background, family history, lifestyle, diet, and any recent changes that may be relevant. She carries out a thorough scalp examination — both visual and microscopic — to assess scalp health, hair density, pattern of loss, and other diagnostic indicators.

In most cases, Rebecca can provide a diagnosis and structured treatment plan. Where appropriate, she may recommend further investigations such as blood tests — and in rare situations, a biopsy — to ensure underlying causes are not missed. Rebecca works closely with the onsite doctor when prescription treatment is required, and provides tailored guidance on topical treatments, scalp care routines, supplements, and practical lifestyle adjustments.

Lived Experience

What distinguishes Rebecca is her personal understanding of hair loss. Having alopecia areata herself, she knows the emotional impact first-hand. Her approach combines clinical objectivity with genuine empathy — she doesn’t just understand the science, she understands how it feels.

Where medical treatment is not appropriate — for example in certain autoimmune cases — Rebecca can refer patients to trusted wig specialists, hair replacement providers, private dermatologists, and support networks. She also writes regularly about hair loss and speaks at wig workshops to support others navigating similar challenges.
