In December Marc gifted himself an early Christmas present when he chose Dr. Ismail for his mega 4768 graft (over 11 thousand hairs) hair transplant.
After first contacting Matthew at Surgery Group in May 2020, he like many others took his time in considering a life changing hair loss treatment and finally took the plunge in early December.
At a time in life when many men come to notice hair loss is increasing, 36 year old Marc had started to research his options and the surgical options available to restore his hairline. Marc was faced with a quandary – FUT or FUE. With information and advice from Matthew and Dr. Ish Marc was still undecided which method to go for. Then his patient coordinator Matthew and Dr. Ish proposed a solution for Marc that meant his hair loss could be altered in one procedure.
A brief explanation of the two hair transplant options follows…
With FUT a strip of skin (and obviously hair) is taken from the back of the head. Although it is still thought, by some to offer better graft yield the resulting linear scar means patients opting for FUT are not able to shave the donor area below a grade 2.
And FUE, the contemporary method of hair restoration. The process involves individual follicle extraction and a barely noticeable dotting on the donor area after the healing period.
So back to Marc and the rarest option of treatments for hair loss that we have ever offered or even known of – The Combo – you get a bigger yield of harvest the mac possible hair grafts in one procedure all completed in one day 10 hours).
In January 2022 Marc was back in the chair with Dr Ahmad and the team. This time we harvested around 1100 grafts from the permanent zone and placed them in the crown to finish things off and achieve full coverage of the balding areas. The patient journey has been longer than usual but we are confident that the results will speak for themselves.
Marc was featured in an article about male plastic surgery in The Sun. He talked about treatments he had tried for his thinning hair and his experience with Surgery Group.
Marc said: ‘The results were amazing, and by the time I met Leanne in 2009, I had a full head of hair’

“Today I went to have my FUT scar disguised by a process known as scalp micro pigmentation (SMP). They basically colour in your scar with a tattoo! Fantastic work by @replikhair who I can’t recommend enough.”
